We are spending this entire week on Immigration to the United States and the Progressive Era.
We have been assigned a mini DBQ on Nativist Response to Immigration. This is a 5 paragraph response to documents. It will be due on Friday, Jan. 9th.
There will be reading for homework this week and a quiz on Friday.
Lit. Skills have a packet due Wed. that they have been working on since last week.

No Homework over the Break unless you want to work on your DBQ

History:

We are working in small groups this week on a Child Labor unit. It will be due on Wed. 12/10
Geography, choose 2 of the three, due on Fri.12/12.
Our first real DBQ will be assigned and it is due on 12/17. It will be assigned on Fri.

Lit. Skills:

We will finish watching the movie and should be finished, Mon. or Tues.
We will then begin a short story, The Treasure of Lemon Brown. We will be working on this in class for the next two weeks. Don't forget you need to be taking AR tests.

The Research project was due today. We will be presenting our inventor and the invention for the next few days. We will begin Child Labor later in the week. There will be a week long mini unit beginning the week of Dec.8th.

CURRENT EVENT:
Every Tuesday you have a current event assignment. Read a current newspaper article, go on line and get a current news article, use a current weekly/monthly magazine article. IT CAN'T SAY UPDATED!! You have to have an actual date.
Write at least two paragraphs of your OPINION! I do NOT want a summary. Just tell me what you think about the information you just read.

You will receive a geography sheet every Monday. This sheet must be completed by Friday and turned in.
